A + E Networks recently launched Lifetime Movie Club. The video streaming service gives subscribers access to over 30 Lifetime movies a month including new titles each and every week. You won’t have to worry about advertisements since the service is commercial free. What’s the catch? Lifetime Movie Club is only available in the United States and U. S. Territories. That means if you currently live or plan to travel outside the USA their service would be geo-blocked based on your IP address. When we first read about Lifetime Movie Club we assumed that Lifetime was offering streaming access to both their original shows and movies. That is not the case. As the name suggests they are only offering access to movies. Their FAQ mentions that members will be able to stream over 30 movies a month. That’s a very small number of movies compared to the titles on rival services like Netflix, Hulu, and CBS All Access. To be fair the Lifetime Movie Club service is priced lower than the competition at $3.99 a month and offers commercial free viewing.
Lifetime Movie Club members will have access to new movies each week. Not that all 30+ movies will be new but they plan to add new titles weekly. We hope they consider expanding their catalog and perhaps adding Lifetime Network shows in the future. Perhaps A + E Networks will also consider stand-alone streaming services for their other properties which include A&E, History, and several more channels.
Those new to Lifetime Movie Club can sign up for their free trial to test the service. The trial period is 7 days. You will need to enter in your billing information to sign up for the free trial. At the end of the trial period you will automatically become a member if you don’t cancel ahead of time. The cost of membership is $3.99 a month. You can cancel your membership anytime by turning off the subscription from the Apple App Store. I should also mention that the service is only available for Apple iOS devices which includes iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Perhaps Lifetime will expand their support to other popular devices in the future.
