AMC Launches Horror Streaming Service

Just in time for Halloween, the team at American Movie Classics (AMC) AMC has finally moved their streaming service out of beta. The new Shudder streaming service is dedicated to horror films, and has moved into Canada as well. If you love watching good horror movies, you will want to check out Shudder. There is no better way to invoke the spirit of ghosts and ghouls than a stand alone streaming like this one. Just visit their site to sign up for a 14-day free trial account.

Shudder has a lot to offer those who like a good scare. By subscribing, you gain instant access to over 500 horror flicks. You can browse them all in alphabetical, by category, or even sub category. Shudder has taken the time to categorize their catalog of movies into collections. They currently have 29 collections for fans of a wide range of horror films. The collections include:

  • Alien Intruders, Eco-Terror, Gross Anatomy, Asian Horror, Psychos and Madmen, Identity Crisis, Socko Spoofs, Into the Wild, Comedy of Terrors, Haunted Habitations, Romantic Bloodsuckers, Slashics, Smart Slashers, The Unblinking Eye: Diabolical Documentaries, The Unraveling Mind, Trapped, Urban Decay, Weird Science, Zombie Jamboree, Cult Masters: EuroHorror, Foundations of Horror, Hexes and Ooohs!, Human Monsters & Serial Killers, Monster Mash, Possessions: The Devil Made Me Do It, Bad Genes & Killer Kids, Not Your Ordinary Bloodsucker, School’s Out…Forever, Spectral Encounters, and many others.

When you visit the Shudder site, you’ll notice that they also have a link at the top of the page. It will take you to a live stream of a horror film. When we visited the page they were streaming ‘We Are the Night’. They stream one horror flick after another on so there is always a movie playing on the site. It’s always fright night on Shudder.

Shudder is currently offering new users a 14 day free trial. Once the free trial ends you can sign up for a membership.  The streaming service costs $4.99 a month. They also have an annual payment option for $49.99 a year. In addition to watching movies through your web browser, you can stream Shudder films on iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch), Android, and Roku.

If you currently live or plan to travel outside of the United States or Canada, you can enjoy channels like Showtime, HBO Now, Netflix, Hulu, Sling TV, CBS All Access, and live sporting events from anywhere in the world by using a Smart DNS service.
