Stream Live Events with Nowlive

Streaming live events has never been more popular.  Apps like Meerkat and Periscope have brought live streaming back into the forefront.  Now Live Media Group is taking it one step further with their new nowlive mobile app.  Nowlive isn’t trying to compete with Meerkat and Periscope in that it isn’t meant for personally streaming events.  Instead Live Media Group plans to use the nowlive app to stream live sporting events, music festivals, movie premieres, awards shows, and more.

What drew our interest to the nowlive app were the features.  Unlike the personal streaming apps, nowlive let’s you view multiple cameras at the same time.  The image above shows their grid view in which you can watch four different cameras at the same time.  At a sporting event that might mean four angles of the same play.  While at a music festival you might be streaming performances from multiple stages at the same time.  You can easily select any of the four channels to watch that feed in full screen.  Nowlive also offers a picture in picture feature.  Their pic in pic gives you full screen coverage of one channel with an overlay of three other channels.  You can check out their site for a demo of the technology.  They have a nice demonstration with Aerosmith.

The nowlive app is available for both iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android devices.  You can download the iOS app via the Apple App Store and the Android app on Google Play.  Nowlive will give you access to four high definition streams at the same time.  You can view all four HD channels in grid view (as shown above) or with picture in picture.  Either way you can easily select any channel to view it in full screen.  If you would like to see just how well the app works, Live Media Group will be streaming the Summerfest music festival in Milwaukee this week.  The concert streams will be live July 3-5 from 8pm to 10pm CST.

In addition to this week’s Summerfest, Live Media Group will be streaming TommorowLand Belgium in August and TomorrowLand Atlanta in September.  If music festivals aren’t your thing you might be interested in other upcoming events.  Live Media Group will also be streaming the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in which some of the finest cars and motorcycles in the world are displayed on the 18th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links.  You can also catch the red carpet premiere for The Giver starring Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep.

In addition to live events nowlive users can also catch up on past broadcasts.  Some of the archived events they have listed on the site include the red carpet premieres of Magic Mike XXL, Perfect Pitch 2, and the Hunger Games: MockingJay Part 1.  They also list TomorrowLand Brasil, the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, and the New Orleans (NOLA) Jazz Festival among the events they’ve streamed.  I suggest you download their nowlive mobile app for your Android or iOS device and test it out with a previous event or the upcoming Summerfest music festival in Milwaukee.  I think you’ll enjoy being able to view four HD feeds at the same time.  Remember you can bring any of the four channels into full screen view without any delay or load time. That’s our favorite feature.
