Watch the US Grand Prix with SmartDNS

This weekend marks the third running of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.  Watch as your favorite Formula 1 drivers compete on the Circuit of the Americas.  Practice and qualifying take place on Saturday.  The race will start at 3:00 PM EST on Sunday.

US Grand Prix

You have a few different options for watching this year’s United States Grand Prix.  The easiest solution for those living outside the US and UK is to sign up for one of the Smart DNS services listed below and watch the race on BBC.  Smart DNS will open up access to BBC iPlayer regardless of what country you happen to be in at the time.

The NBC Sports Network will cover most of Friday’s US Grand Prix practice runs.  They will start coverage at 12:30 PM EST on Friday, October 31st and end with an encore show at 10:30 PM.  Saturday’s qualifying will be on NBC beginning at 1:00 PM EST.  The F1 Countdown will be on NBC before Sunday’s race.  Coverage starts at 2:30 EST and the race will start at 3:00.

NBC Sports Live Extra will be offering all the US Grand Prix events live online.  You will need a US cable of satellite subscription to access this coverage.  That can be a challenge for those traveling outside the US.  Even if you subscribe to DirecTV, Comcast, etc. you’ll still have trouble streaming live events outside the US.  Smart DNS will take care of the problem.

A good Smart DNS service will help you unblock geographic restrictions.  Whether you’re on vacation in Australia or in Germany for business using Smart DNS will help you enjoy the comforts of home.  If you live abroad Smart DNS can help you access popular services in countries like the US (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant, etc.) and UK (BBC iPlayer, Sky Go, etc.) and more.  You will still need to sign up for paid services like Netflix.

Best Smart DNS to Watch the United States Grand Prix

You have a few Smart DNS services to choose from.  When it comes to live events you want to make sure the SmartDNS can unblock whichever channel you plan to watch.  The last thing you want to do is get ready to watch the race and be disappointed.  Visiting a site only to be greeted by a restricted access message is never fun but it’s especially annoying when you’re trying to watch a live event.  Here are some services that are up to the task.

The Smart DNS providers listed above offer free trial accounts.  None of them require payment information to try out the service.  They understand you need time to test.  You simply enter in your email address and test the service free of charge.  The free trial will give you plenty of time to watch the US Grand Prix and test other channels.

Unblock-Us

I’ve been very happy using Unblock-Us for live events. It’s very easy to set up and has always been reliable.  The site includes a full list of channels and supported devices.  Unblock-Us was one of the first Smart DNS services and has built a good reputation.  They have a large customer base which has allowed them to continue expanding the service.  They have excellent technical support if you ever need assistance.

For those who want the privacy protection of a VPN I would suggest OverPlay.  They offer both VPN and Smart DNS.  You won’t need a VPN to unblock content in other countries.  It will do that but it’s overkill if you’re just using it to unblock geo restrictions.  Some content providers like Hulu work hard to block VPN’s from accessing their content.  A VPN is a good choice for those who want extra privacy protection.  You can visit our VPN Fan site to compare all your options.
